Independent Ireland announces second candidate for local elections

Thomas Hartigan has announced he will run as an Independent Ireland candidate in the local elections.

INDEPENDENT Ireland has announced the candidacy of Thomas Hartigan as their second election candidate for the Adare-Rathkeale electoral area in the upcoming local elections.

Mr Hartigan, an advocate for rural Ireland, hails from Pallaskenry.

“I am running as an Independent Ireland candidate because I believe that being a young candidate gives me the ability to represent and work with all people to get the best possible results for our community,” he said.

“I am passionate about rural Ireland and don’t feel we are being heard on the political stage.”

The young county man had previously announced he would run as an Independent, before last week confirming his joining of the Independent Ireland party, co-founded by Limerick TD Richard O’Donoghue.
