Man beaten in broad daylight with metal bar in Limerick City park

GARDAÍ in Limerick are appealing to the public for information after a serious assault took place in a public park in the city before the Easter long weekend.

According to Sergeant Ber Leetch, Henry Street Garda Station, a man in his late thirties was beaten in broad daylight by two unknown men in Arthur’s Quay Park on March 27.

Sergeant Leetch said the man was approached by the two assailants at around 1pm, at which point he was struck on the head with a metal bar.

“His injuries are serious but not life threatening,” Sergeant Leetch said, adding that the man was helped by a number of onlookers who came to his aid.

Gardaí in Henry Street Garda Station are appealing for anyone who may have any information on the attack to come forward on 061 212 400.
