Limerick U-20s open Munster hurling championship against Clare

Limerick open their Munster Under-20 Hurling Championship against Clare at Sixmilebridge on Friday (7pm).

In the group stages, Limerick will also meet Tipperary (home), Cork (away), and Waterford (home).

The side is managed by Evan Loftus of Ballybrown with Cian Scully (Dromin-Athlacca) as captain.

Meanwhile, Limerick exited the main Munster Under-20 Football Championship with a home defeat to Clare on Easter Saturday, but as consolation will meet Waterford in the inaugural‘B’ Final next week.

Elsewhere, in camogie, Limerick signed off their National League campaign with a stunning 3-11 to 1-15 defeat of leaders Wexford at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale.

Adare’s Caoimhe Costello (2-5) was superb while Lizanna Boylan (1-2) of Na Piarsaigh also impressed.

Joe Quaid’s side will next be in action in the Championship later in the month.
