GardaĆ­ in Limerick investigating after CEX store robbed at gunpoint in city centre

GARDAƍ in Limerick issued an alert for information after a man allegedly robbed a premises at gunpoint in Limerick City this Monday morning (April 8).

GardaĆ­ said cash and goods were stolen in the raid in broad daylight at the Cex store, a nationwide games and tech buy and sell franchise, located on Cruises Street.

In response to a query from the Limerick Post, a Garda spokesman confirmed that ā€œa suspected firearm was involved in this incidentā€.

ā€œGardaĆ­ received report of an alleged incident of armed robbery that occurred at approximately 10:55am today, Monday, 8th of April 2024, at a premises on Cruises Street, Limerick City,ā€ he said.

ā€œA sum of cash and a number of goods were taken in the course of this incident.ā€

The Garda spokesman said that ā€œno injuries were reportedā€, adding that ā€œno arrests have been madeā€ in the armed daylight robbery.

ā€œInvestigations are ongoing at this time,ā€ he added.

It’s understood GardaĆ­ have harvested an image of a suspect from CCTV footage at the store and are searching for the man.
