Limerick’s Róisín Ní Ríain brilliantly claimed both gold (100m Breaststroke) and silver (100m Butterfly) at the 2024 European Para Swimming Championships in Funchal, Portugal.
She took the top spot in the 100m Breaststroke with a time of 1:18:00, a personal best.
After her win, the 18-year-old from Drombanna said: “That was a pretty good swim, happy with the time and a great race. I always think the hundred breaststroke is a fun one for me just to get out and race. I love the event so I’m very pleased with that.”
Ní Ríain is a first year sports science student at the University of Limerick.
