Munster dominate in South Africa

URC action continued this weekend.

MUNSTER’s two-match URC venture in South Africa has yielded the maximum 10 points following a routine 33-13 defeat of the Lions in Johannesburg.

Itโ€™s a result that moves the defending champions up to third in the table.

Munster built up a 23-6 interval lead, through tries from Jack Oโ€™Donoghue and a penalty try, along with three long-range penalites from Jack Crowley, who had earlier added the extras to those five-pointers.

Close to the break, Lions captain Maurius Louw was yellow-carded.

Early in the second half, Shane Daly nipped in for a third try for the visitors, and the fourth arrived in the close of play through Gavin Coombes.

Tadhg Beirne was selected as player of the match.

Graham Rowntreeโ€™s side have now secured a stunning 29 out of a maxium 30 points from their last six fixtures.

Munster are next up against Connacht at Thomond Park.
