Ballygunner to face Limerick winners in SHC

THE winners of the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship will be home to Waterfordโ€™s Ballygunner in the opening round of the provincial competition in early November.

The Gunners won their championship for the 11th year on the trot with a comfortable defeat of Abbeyside-Ballinacourty at the weekend.

The side is now unbeaten in an incredible 58 matches.

Lead players for the Waterford team include goalkeeper Stephne Oโ€™Keeffe, Tadhg Foley, Philip Mahony, Conor Sheahan, Dessie Hutcinson and Pauric Mahony,

Ballygunner will now have a long wait for their next outing, while Limerick have yet to reach the knock-out stages.

The winners of Limerick/Clare will advance to meet the Tipperary representatives in the semi-final of the Munster Championship.
