THE Low Field is made up of members of Bleeding Heart Pigeons (Virgin Records), Casavetes (DIY LK) and Deadbog. The four piece incorporate elements of slowcore and experimental rock into their sound. ‘Gather’ is the new single from The Low Field and their self-titled debut album is due out Friday October 18. The record was produced and mixed by Mícheál Keating. Inspired by the live sounds of albums such as ‘Ground Aswim’ by Sinai Vessel, the band opted to record the instrumentation of the songs all live, together in one room. The result is a rich and dynamic tapestry for the open lyricism to lean into.
On ‘Gather’ Diarmuid O’Shea says “This song was first written around 2020 when I was living at home in County Mayo. I was back in my teenage bedroom, in the midst of a global pandemic. Everything felt like it was slipping away and I just wanted to hold it all close to me, the good and the bad.”
Launching the album The Low Field will play Pharmacia on Friday November 1.
