A SUSPECTED burglar who had to be rescued by emergency services from a vent above a chipper is due to appear before Limerick District Court this Thursday morning in connection with the incident.
The man was extracted from the vent on the roof of the fast food premises by firefighters attached to Limerick City and County Firefighters yesterday (Wednesday).
He was spotted by a member of the public and is thought to have been stuck in the vent for more than 12 hours.
Firefighters used a Bronto skylift to access and free the man from his predicament. Gardaรญ attached to Roxboro Road station arrested the man at the scene.
Gardaรญ said the man would appear before court this morning charged in connection with the matter.
โGardaรญ investigating an incident at a business premises in Dooradoyle, Limerick City, arrested a man, in his (40s), who was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in Limerick, and has been charged,โ a Garda spokeswoman said.
โHe is due to appear before Limerick District Court, Court No 6, at 10.30am Thursday 7th November 2024.โ
โInvestigations are ongoing,โ she Garda spokeswoman confirmed.
