A NEW exhibition is set to kick off at the Hunt Museum in Limerick, setting out a seasonal must-see for fans of multicultural art.

โ€˜Kwaidan โ€“ Encounters with Lafcadio Hearnโ€™ will open at the Hunt Museum on December 3.

It is an exhibition of works by 20 Irish and 20 Japanese artists.

The works are inspired by Kwaidan, a 1904 book of ghost stories by Irish-Greek writer Lafcadio Hearn, also known as Koizumi Yakumo.

The works reflect Hearnโ€™s ghostly tales along with a range of artistic techniques and perspectives transforming eerie stories into compelling visual pieces.

The exhibition explores the intersection of folklore, storytelling, and the shared cultural heritage between Ireland and Japan.
