ÁRDSCOIL Rís have been paired with Thurles CBS in the quarter final of the Dr Harty Cup Schools’ Hurling Championship, while the other last eight ties feature Midleton CBS v St Flannan’s of Ennis, Cashel GC against Gaelcholáiste Mhuire AG (Cork) and CBC Cork versus De La Salle Waterford.
All quarters are listed for next Wednesday (January 8).
If five-time winners and last season’s beaten finalists Árdscoil come through, next up will be a semi-final tilt with either CBC of De La Salle on January 18.
The final is listed for February 1.
Seán Morrissey of Dromin Athlacca is Árdscoil captain, and other key players for manager Niall Crowe’s side include Conor Ryan (Adare), Ronan Benson (Na Piarsaigh), Darragh Gleeson (Adare), Malachy McKenna (Pallasgreen), Eoin Begley (Clonlara), Seán Arthur (Newmarket-on-Fergus), and Adare’s Patrick Kearney, scorer of a brilliant 2-25 thus far in the competition.
