Lipper, a hat-trick hero for Limerick

A GLORIOUS hat-trick from Adam Lipper (Pike Rovers) earned Limerick District League a 3-2 win over the Munster Senior League in the coveted Oscar Traynor Trophy at Jackman Park.

The victory propels John Lysaght’s side into a Munster Final against Waterford.

Remarkably, the determined home selection came from behind on two occasions to gain parity, while the winner arrived bang on full-time.

Meanwhile, Lipper and colleagues are at Killarney Athletic in the Munster Junior Cup on Sunday next, while Aisling Annacotty entertain Janesboro.

Both fixtures are timed for 2pm.

And, following a penalty shoot-out win over neighbours Mungret Regional, Regional United are through to the Tuohy Cup Final.

Lead marksman Hamza Selman Celik (Mungret) and Adam Fitzpatrick exchanged goals in regulation time.

Aisling and Fairview Rangers contest the other semi-final.
