A MEETING of the Rathkeale and District Historical Society will take place this Friday (February 28).

The meeting, which will be addressed by historian Patrick Coleman, involves a talk on ‘The deluge of difficulties: The challenges of fundraising for the building of a Catholic Church during the Devotional Revolution’, including a case study on St Mary’s Church in Rathkeale.

The Society says that all are welcome to attend the meeting and talk, and that there is no cover charge on the door.

For those interested in becoming a member, a €10 joining fee can be paid on the night to the society’s treasurer.
