SHANNON Airport recorded a significant surge in passenger traffic this summer, welcoming over 755,000 passengers across June, July, and August – a 16 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
This growth reflects the airport’s expanding route network of 36 services, including five daily transatlantic flights, hotspots such as Lanzarote, Malaga, Palma, Alicante, and Faro, as well as the new year-round route to Madeira.
This builds on a record-breaking performance in the second quarter of 2025, with 650,000 passengers travelling through Shannon Airport between April and June.
These figures represent an 11 per cent increase on the previous year.
Niall Kearns, Shannon Airport director, said: “We’re delighted with seen such strong growth. We started with a bumper June Bank Holiday weekend and never slowed down.”
