Patrolling GardaĆ­ make cannabis arrest in city’s Medieval Quarter

GARDAƍ in Limerick City seized an amount of cannabis while out on patrol.

According to a post on the An Garda SĆ­ochĆ”na Limerick Facebook page, Community GardaĆ­ from Mayorstone Garda Station made the drugs find while out on patrol as part of Operation Feabhsaigh (which targets crime and prevention the King’s Island area).

GardaĆ­ observed a man ā€œacting suspiciously in Limerick Historical Quarterā€, the post said.

ā€œThe male was apprehended and searched under the Drugs Act, where he was found to have a large quantity of suspected cannabis on his possession with an estimated street value of €1,400.ā€

GardaĆ­ said the man was arrested and detained. The drugs were sent for analysis, which will determine the course of the investigation.
