MHP Sellors Solicitors has strengthened its partnership and litigation teams with the appointment of Kate McInerney as partner and the addition of Claire Benson as solicitor.

Sellors said that Kate has progressed through a series of key litigation roles across the practice over the years. A native of Cratloe and long-time Quin resident, her appointment as partner highlights the firm’s focus on developing talent from within.

Kate is an experienced defence litigator who acts for and on behalf of a number of insurance companies at all court levels. She also possesses considerable experience in general litigation matters including recovery matters, defamation, judicial review and commercial disputes.

MHP Sellors also welcomed experienced solicitor Claire Benson to its established litigation team. Originally from Antrim and now based in Ballina, Claire previously worked with a mid-tier Dublin based firm and specialises in defence litigation and employment law.

Sellors said she brings a wealth of experience in complex litigation and employment matters, combined with a practical understanding of organisational needs and will support the delivery of litigation services to clients across the Mid West.

The firm additionally welcomed Sarah Jane Whyte, a native of Ennis, to its growing public and regulatory department earlier this year. Having previously trained with the firm, MHP Sellors said it was delighted to have her return as she continues to build her career within the expanding team.

Commenting on the appointments, Stephen Keogh, Sellors managing partner, said: “We are pleased to announce Kate’s appointment as partner and to welcome Claire to our litigation team. Both colleagues bring strong capability to the firm and to our clients.”

“Their appointments align with our ongoing focus on strengthening and solidifying our legal services in Clare, Limerick, and beyond.”
