ONE in 17 homes across Limerick (5.8 per cent) received a grant under the Solar PV Scheme over the past five years.
That’s according to data provided by the SEAI to EnergyEfficiency.ie, which showed that home solar panel systems in Limerick stood 69.5 per cent higher than the national average in 2020, along with an increase of 4,427 installation between 2020 and 2025.
The average cost per kilowatt peak (kWp) of solar in Limerick fell from €2,778 to €1,622 over the period (down 42 per cent).
According to EnergyEfficiency.ie, Limerick households invested €49.1million in home solar PV panels, supported by just over €9.5m in SEAI grants.
