AARON Gillane is a notable absentee from the Limerick team chosen by manager John Kiely for Sunday’s massive Munster Senior Hurling Championship tie with Cork at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, 2pm.
The five-time All-Star sustained a calf injury during mid-week training and will also be absent for the away outing against Clare on May 3.
Across over 30 provincial championship fixtures (2018 – ‘25), Gillane has grabbed an astonishing 12-217, including 2-32 in each of the last two campaigns.
His quality replacement is Peter Casey.
Cork have named an unchanged team from that which started in the win over All-Ireland winners Tipperary at the weekend.
James Owens (Wexford) will referee.
