LIMERICK’S Twilight Thursday series returns this week with Wave of Pixielation, a live concert and block party taking place at 8pm on Thursday May 28 at the Coach House of the People’s Museum, 2 Pery Square.
Timed to coincide with the Pixies’ visit to Ireland, the evening is the brainchild of musicians Mark P O’Connor and Mark Heng, who will be joined by Eoin Ryan and a number of special guests for a night of live interpretations of the iconic Boston band’s catalogue alongside early 90s DJ sets.

O’Connor, who grew up in the Boston area during the band’s formative years, and Heng, who spent his J1 summer in the US during the 1994 World Cup, bring a personal connection to the material. The pair draw a loose cultural comparison to the European tradition of communal public gatherings — Spain’s botellón or Germany’s Kulturhaus — positioning the Coach House and its garden as what they describe as “a safe space for all 90s rock enthusiasts.”
The event follows previous Twilight Thursday successes at the museum, including Tango at Twilight and a well-received Donovan tribute evening. Performances on the night will span piano, guitar, bass and voice, with DJ sets rounding out the programme.
Doors open at 8pm. Entry is free, with contributions to the People’s Museum warmly welcomed.
