THE umbrella organisation of which Limerick Women’s Network is a member, officially launched its new name, visual identity and strategic plan last week.
Going forward they will now be known as Women’s Collective Ireland and Women’s Collective Ireland – Limerick respectively.
WCI Limerick is one of 17 Grassroots Women’s Community Development Projects located across the country.
Limerick Coordinator Yvie Murphy said that while they were moving into a new phase, name and look as an organisation, they wanted people to know that their focus is still very much on gender equality and working with the women of Limerick as best they can.
Women’s Collective Ireland chief executive Miriam Holt said she welcomed the leadership role working in such an exciting feminist organisation, that works for women, with women, is rooted in the community with collective spaces for women.
“Our work is grounded in the lives and experiences of the grassroots women we meet and work with. Women’s Collective Ireland – Women Inspiring Women: Together we are stronger.”
“The new logo and its ripples represent the ripple effect that our work and connection with grassroots women has on the women themselves as well as their families, communities and our society,” she added.
Speaking about the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, Chairperson Ann Fitzgerald said, “Our new strategic plan provides a framework to support us and the women we work with to face new challenges and explore new and exciting possibilities as we go forward together”.
