IRISH culture at Mary Immaculate College chalked up a major win at the recent Board of Irish College Societies (BICS) awards in Tullamore.
The Cumann Gaelach society was named Most Improved Society at the awards, which aim to celebrate the strength and work of college societies across Irish third-level institutions.
A representative said the win was a “hugely significant achievement for our society, for Mary Immaculate College, and for the promotion of Irish language and culture among young people”.
“We are also proud to be the first Cumann Gaelach to receive this award, which reflects the growing energy and enthusiasm around Gaeilge on our campus and beyond.”
