FOUR popular Limerick City hotspots have been awarded funding under the 2026 Grassroots Venues Support Scheme.
The scheme aims to support grassroots music venues in showcasing the talents of emerging artists across Ireland. Four popular local venues were awarded under this year’s scheme, including Dolan’s (€20,000), Cleary’s Bar in Newcastle West (€20,000), The Commercial Bar in Limerick City (€20,000), and the Wickham Way (€8,000).
Limerick TD and Culture Minister said that “grassroots venues are central to nurturing emerging artists and providing them with an opportunity to hone their talent, and it is very important that we recognise their contribution to the live performance industry, particularly given the challenges these venues face.”
