Two detained following pub shooting

GARDAI are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the Roxboro area on Thursday.
The incident happened at the Steering Wheel bar in the Roxboro Shopping Centre shortly after mid-day.


The injured man was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Dooradoyle where he died from his injuries.

 

Roxboro Gardaí who are investigating the incident arrested a man in his 20s shortly after the shooting, he is being questioned at Roxboro Garda Station.
A second man was arrested some time later and is being detained at Henry Street.

Gardai are examining a car they believe may have been used in the attack as part of their inquiry.

The two men can be held for questioning for up to seven days under the Section 50 criminal justice act 2007 and its allowable periods of detention.
