Man crushed by truck

A MAN has lost his life after the truck he was working on collapsed and crushed him at his home in Co Tipperary yesterday afternoon.

Thomas O’Sullivan a father of four, died while being transported by helicopter to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

The incident happened around 12.30pm at the family home at Coolbaun near Borrisokane. The 45-year-old was working beneath the vehicle when it collapsed trapping him underneath. It is believed that the jacks he was using to hold up the truck failed.

When Paramedics arrived at the scene, they found the victim’s wife attempting to resuscitate her husband. The Irish Coast Guard was then called to airlift the injured man to hospital due to the seriousness of his injuries.
