Limerick ladies make final cut for prestigious business awards

“Believers are Achievers” is the theme that will surround this years annual conference and business awards for Network Ireland which were launched this week by Paul Shelly President of Galway Chamber of Commerce. Network Galway are hosting the event and the Business Women of the Year Awards in Galway on the 8 October at the Galway Bay Hotel. MS Ireland is the Network Ireland Charity of the Year 2010.

Speaking at the Launch, Anne Hession President of Network Ireland commented; “Our fine line up of speakers will inspire and motivate you and reflect the theme ‘Believers are Achievers’ in a very realistic way.  Jack Black, our keynote speaker, is one of the best known motivational speakers in these islands, having inspired thousands of entrepreneurs to outshine the competition. Veronica Canning, author of Shoeisms, a book for ‘thoughtful, enquiring, stylish women who look at the world from atop their magical shoes and query and question everything in their lives’. Deirdre Bounds, is as she says herself ‘an entrepreneur in the purest sense, no commercial experience, just a great idea, a pile of passion, lots of mistakes and a sense of humour’. Enda O’Coineen, entrepreneur, adventurer, philanthropist, crossed the Atlantic in a 15 ft dingy at the age of 21.

The event will also hear from Galway member Liz Cassidy, EU Entrepreneurial Ambassador, Derek Reilly, Area Director of BNI, Julia Sinnamon, Enterprise Ireland, Carmel Brennan, Galway Chamber of Commerce and our award winners from 2009, Rita Mylett and Liz Waters. Our MC is the much admired Senator David Norris.”

National Awards co-ordinator, Dorothy Quinn released the shortlist of nominees going forward to this year’s awards. Limerick is well represented with Nicole Dunphy of Pandorabell and Aevann Upton of Spin Southwest making the final cut. Commenting on the awards, National Awards co-ordinator, Dorothy Quinn said that the standard of nominations was very high again this year and she congratulated all this years shortlisted nominees.
