FINE Gael councillor Dan McSweeney welcomed confirmation that the Clarina/Ballybrown Public Realm Enhancement Plan is set to be published during Quarter 2 of this year.
Following a question by Cllr Dan McSweeney at the recent Metropolitan District Meeting, the Fine Gael councillor was advised that Limerick City and County Council is in the process of finalising the plan ahead of publication.
The development of the plan follows a motion brought forward by Councillor McSweeney and has involved significant engagement with the community of Clarina/Ballybrown. Two public consultation events have taken place in recent months, both of which were well attended.
Welcoming this progress, Councillor McSweeney said: “It is brilliant to now have an end in sight for the publishing of the public realm enhancement plan for Clarina/Ballybrown. The finalising of this document will now enable Limerick City and County Council to explore funding opportunities to deliver elements of this plan,”
“The engagement piece of this plan has been significant by the Forward Planning Team and has been very well attended, which shows the strong community buy in. The plan is ambitious for Clarina/Ballybrown and will need to be delivered in phases, but I would hope that we will begin to see some elements of the plan delivered this year.”
Cllr McSweeney said that “overall, this is a very positive step forward for the area, and I look forward to working with all stakeholders to ensure that the vision outlined in the plan becomes a reality for the local area.”
