Limerick hurlers face Antrim in final League game

-

LIMERICK play Antrim this Sunday afternoon in Casement Park at 2.30pm, in what is the Shannonsiders last game in the National Hurling League stages, before their final appearance on May 1st.
Limerick’s opponents in that final will be known this weekend as Clare and Antrim, both on eight points, do battle to see who will join Donal O’Grady’s men in the decider.

Limerick are expected to field an experimental side this weekend as the game is effectively a ‘dead rubber’ for the League leaders. With the first round of the championship not until the 12th of June versus Waterford, Limerick’s management team will be looking to give players an experience of competitive hurling before the league ends.
On the football front, Limerick’s senior footballers will be plying their trade back in Division four of the national football league again next season. Maurice Horan’s charges defeated Wexford last weekend at Newcastle West, but they were still relegated as results in other games went against them.
The footballers are now out of competitive action until the championship starts on Saturday June sixth.
