Club football tops this weekend’s agenda

-

LAST weekend’s highlights were the Senior and Intermediate hurling championships and this weekend it’s the turn of the Club footballers to get their seasons back on track.
In group 1 of the Live 95fm Senior football championship, first plays second as table toppers Fr Casey’s enterain Adare. Third placed Monaleen take on bottom side Pallasgreen, while the final fixture in that section sees St Patricks taking on Galbally.

In group 2, fifth placed Ballysteen entertain group leaders Newcastlewest, while second placed Ballylanders take on St Kierans. The final fixture in group two sees St Senans taking on Drom/Broadford.
With the Limerick senior footballers back in action on July 9th, Limerick manager Maurice Horan will be looking to add to his panel after the heavy loss to Kerry. With these fixtures, players have an opportunity to get on the county panel and star for their county in the green and white.
The Griffin Coach hire Intermediate football championship also takes place this weekend. The stand out games in this section are Gerald Griffins versus Athea in Group 1 and the meeting of Croom and Bruree in Group 2.
The football championship takes over from the hurling championship which was in full swing last weekend.
With Limerick hurling on a high, these matches were of a high standard and many lived up the pre match billings.
Kilamllock, Emmets, Adare/Na Piarsiagh and Doon top the four groups in the Live 95fm sponsored senior ranks, while Ballybrown, Effin, Monaleen and Dromin Athlaca are the pace setters in the Nick Greene Sports intermediate hurling championships.
To hear more on these ties and more on the GAA in general, tune in to this Friday night’s GAA show on Live 95fm where Postsport’s Editor Donn O’Sullivan will be once more appearing alongside Ger Downes on the 6pm show.
Don’t forget, for up to date starting times, please check out the fixtures in full on page 85 of this weekend’s Limerick Post or www.limerickgaa.ie
