Man claims pepper spray was for his protection

A DUBLIN man who was found in possession of a can of pepper spray in Limerick that was mounted on the sun visor of his car has said he had it for his own protection.
28-year-old Michael Mooney with an address at Sundale Park, Tallaght, was arrested after gardai stopped him on November 13 last year with the item in his possession, contrary to section 9 (5) of the Firearms and Offensive weapons act.
