LUNCHTIME in Limerick city is set for upmarket entertainment with three free classical concerts taking place in the coming months.
Classical musicians will tune up for this autumn music series which will take place in The Granary at Micheal Street, commencing on Friday September 26, and continuing on the last Fridays in October and November.
The series, presented by the RTÉ Contempo Quartet in association with the Limerick Arts Office and The Granary Library, will feature performances by a number of special guest composers including fiddler Zoë Conway.
Details of the 9th annual Castleconnell Autumn Concerts Series have also been unveiled, which takes place at the All Saints’ Church.
This series begins on Tuesday next, September 30 at 8pm with the award-winning Chatham Saxophone Quartet and will continue on the last Tuesdays of October and November.
This is a return of the familiar monthly autumnal Classics series that has featured international class chamber and solo acts, Irish grown and those from overseas.
Brid Quinn of the Limerick Arts Office makes the point that “Our aim in presenting these concerts is to give the people of Limerick the opportunity to enjoy live classical music, performed by highly skilled musicians at two venues that are both intimate and local.”
