GAA – Draw time for Hurling qualifiers confirmed

Screen shot 2015-06-19 at 14.26.04THE DRAW for Round 1 of the Hurling qualifiers will take place next Monday morning, June 22nd on RTE Radio after the 8.30am news. The draw will also be streamed live on GAA.ie on www.gaa.ie.

These games will take place on July 4th . This round involves the eight teams defeated in the Munster and Leinster Quarter and Semi Finals. Teams are drawn from two bowls which shall be as follows:

  1. Four Leinster Championship Teams
  2. Three Munster plus one Leinster Championship team.

(The Leinster Championship Team to be included in the Munster Group must be one of the two Teams that qualified through the Provincial Qualifier Group. A separate draw will be made, if necessary, to decide whether Westmeath or Laois – if involved – should be the team to join the “Munster” grouping for the purposes of the draw)

The teams shall play on a knock-out basis. A draw of four pairings of Group 1 v Group 2 teams, with avoidance of repeat pairings, will be made.

Venues will be on a home and away basis and will be determined by a separate draw. The Leinster teams involved will be Westmeath, Offaly, Dublin, the losers of Galway v Laois, the losers of Kilkenny v Wexford; the Munster teams will be Cork, Clare and the losers of Limerick v Tipperary.
