MINISTER of State at the Department of Justice and TD for Limerick County Niall Collins this past week welcomed figures that show 39,691 pupils and students across Limerick are benefitting from the Government’s free school books scheme.

A total of 22,501 primary school pupils across 142 schools and 17,190 post-primary students across 34 schools are benefitting from the scheme, Minister Collins revealed, which removes the cost of schoolbooks, workbooks, copybooks, and classroom resources.

Minister Collins said the scheme has had, and continues to have, a “significant impact” on families across Limerick.

“The Free School Books Scheme has been such a successful scheme in easing back to school costs for families across Limerick.
