Workshops to polish words

THERE are places still available on a Fiction Writing course at Limerick Writers’ Centre later this month, intended for people who have written and wish to redraft or who are writing a novel of their own. Tara White is behind the Introductory Course in Fiction Writing which will begin on Wednesday August 19 in association with Limerick Writers’ Centre.

Six weekly seminars covering all aspects of fiction writing such as characterisation, narrative voice, naming and names, imagination, opening lines, invoking place as well as plot, dialogue, editing and publication.

This Fiction Writing course will run from 7pm – 8.30pm, Wednesdays August 19 to October 7 inclusive at the Centre on 12 Barrington Street; there is a fee.

According to the director at Limerick Writers’ Centre, Dominic Taylor, who has pioneered these upskilling workshops and programmes at affordable prices, “All are delivered by professional practitioners. We also try to make them relevant to the real world with practical advice a priority. Our courses are always well paced and pitched at a level which allows participants to learn quickly.”
