UNIVERSITY Concert Hall and The Hunt Museum have meshed magnetism for several years past for  Culture Night (coming Friday 18) with its Opera Delights sounding three times in the night.

This is a ticket only affair that is no charge and buy in advance is stipulated at the Custom House. Pick which session suits you at 7pm, 8pm or 9pm to hear half a dozen professional singers from Limerick sing arias and duets, schooled by Olive Cowpar as artistic director.

There’s a late gig then by the river at 10pm with Limerick Jazz hosting the Brian Priestly Quintet’s tribute to Cannon(ball) Adderly in a marquee that the Hunt Museum will erect.

Priestly is a prestigious dude in the jazz stratosphere. He will run another gig, late and great also, on Saturday 26 in Dolan’s Upstairs venue for Limerick Jazz Festival’s club – 10.30pm (www.limerickjazzfestival.com).
