AS part of a month of cultural offerings across Limerick city and county in September a giant hand painted sign featuring the words ‘Everybody Else is doing it so Why Can’t We’ has been unveiled on the corner of William and Little William Street. Inspired by the title of The Cranberries debut album the unveiling is the culmination of a celebration of traditional hand painted signs, part of the Love Letters from Limerick project. Love Letters from Limerick was organised by local Limerick sign painter Tom Collins with the support of Limerick Marketing and the Limerick European Capital of Culture 2020 bid. Over the past week Limerick has welcomed ten of the world’s leading sign artists from the United States, the UK, the Netherlands and Ireland.

Pictured is Irishman Tom Collins the brainchild behind the project and Sean Starr from the US world renowned sign writer and wife Kayleigh Starr.
