Hundreds of graduates at Limerick conferring ceremonies

Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) will host its annual graduation ceremonies over the next two weeks.

THE Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) annual graduation ceremonies get under way this Thursday, November 6 at 10 am and run right through to Friday, November 20 when hundreds of students will receive their degrees.

The ceremonies will be held at the Moylish campus tomorrow and Friday and the Clare Street (Friday, 13) Limerick campus on Friday, November 13 before moving to the Thurles campus on Friday, November 20.

The programme opens on Thursday with the Faculty of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology at the Moylish campus. This conferring will also be addressed by LIT President Dr. Maria Hinfelaar and Governing Body Chairman Niall Greene.

The first students to be conferred will be from the Department of Built Environment and Department of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering at 10 am. The day’s second session will take place at 1pm when graduates from the Department of Information Technology and Department of Applied Science will be conferred.  A third graduation ceremony, for the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering takes place at 4pm.

Friday is the turn of the Faculty of Business and Humanities.  The first session at 11am is for graduations from the Department of Applied Social Sciences and Department of Food & Tourism, with a second session  at 2pm, for the Department of Sports & Finance and Department of Business.

The School of Art and Design will have its conferring at its Clare Street, Limerick Campus on Friday, November 13, with separate sessions at 10.30am.  and 2.30pm.

The final graduation ceremony takes place at LIT’s Thurles campus, on Friday November 20, when the Faculty of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology and Faculty of Business and Humanities has its conferrings.
