OWNERS of a horse seized this Monday from the grounds of Catherine McAuley school on Ashbourne Avenue in Limerick have until this weekend to claim ownership before the local authority dispose of the horse under the provisions of the Control of Horses Act, 1996.

According to a public notice posted on the Limerick City and County Council website, the horse, a two and a half year old grey filly, was seized on Monday as the owner is not known to the authority.

The filly, which is carrying a microchip with an identity number, can be claimed by its owners once they provide supporting written documentation for proof of ownership.
