The Super Blues travel to Dublin with a 14-point lead at the top of the First Division, having dropped only two points all season, that in their last game against Drogheda United earlier this month. Eddie Gormleyโs Cabinteely are bottom of the table and were beaten 3-0 when they visited the Markets Field in mid April.
Martin Russellโs Limerick played two games during the mid-season interval. Last Friday they took on local Premier Division champions Carew Park at the Markets Field in the first-ever Charity Cup, with proceeds from the game going towards Kieran Hanlon, Amber OโHalloran and family. In their final game under Albert Slatteryโs management, Carew won 2-1 thanks to goals from Mark McGrath and Jamie OโSullivan after Paul OโConor had put Limerick ahead.
The Super Blues then ventured north to The Showgrounds for a friendly against Sligo Rovers, who defeated the First Division leaders 2-1. Raffaele Cretaro and Kieran Sadlier gave the hosts a two-goal lead before half-time, with Stephen Kenny halving the deficit for Limerick in the second half.
