Songwriter Glenn Rosborough to play Kasbah Social Club

Glenn Rosborough

BROUGHT up in Derry in a household full of records that would be his formative influences, singer/songwriter Glenn Rosborough cut his teeth in that city’s vibrant music scene. Playing regular shows at Bennigan’s and the Warehouse allowed him to try new songs on an audience full of writers and performers.
From there he cultivated and formed an album’s worth of songs that attracted the attention of Ignition Records. He signed to the label in 2017.

“I started my musical life from a very early age, teaching myself guitar at the age of ten and writing songs from the year after. Growing up in a musical household, with childhood heroes such as Tom Waits, Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel, becoming a musician was not a destined path but as realistic a career as becoming a lawyer, plumber or doctor. My parents made sure of that.” Glenn says of his musical upbringing in a city steeped in music.
Glenn has a sense of drama and a way with a hook and chorus – hear his song ‘Turn Blue’ from last November.
He has appeared at festivals such as the Great Escape and Community Festival, showcasing new songs whilst building a great live reputation and loyal following.

He’s played Other Voices Belfast and Dingle in December and is touring Ireland while currently recording his debut album.

Glenn Rosborough plays Kasbah Social Club this Friday January 26.
