Man and woman arrested after Gardaí seize cash and suspected drugs worth more than €28,000

A MAN and a woman have been arrested after gardai seized a haul of cash and suspected cocaine and cannabis at a house in County Limerick last night, Monday, April 27.

The arrests were made after Gardaí searched a house in Castleconnell at about 7pm and recovered the suspected drugs and money.

A Garda spokesman said Gardaí attached to the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit recovered “over €28,000 of suspected drugs and cash” at the house.

“As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Limerick city, Gardaí from the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit executed a search warrant at a house in St Patrick’s Villas, Castleconnell, Co. Limerick at around 7pm.”

“During the course of the search Gardaí seized €8,200 of suspected cannabis herb, €1,500 of suspected cocaine and over approximately €18,700 in cash.”

“The suspected drugs will now be sent for analysis,” they said.

The male and female arrested are “both aged in their 40s”.

“They were arrested at the scene and brought to Henry Street (garda station) where they are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984,” the spokesman said.
