University Concert Hall (UCH) is delighted to announce a new four-part concert series Awakening

UNIVERSITY CONCERT HALL PRESENTS AWAKENING, LIMERICK CONCERT SERIES

UNIVERSITY Concert Hall (UCH) is delighted to announce details of its new four-part concert series Awakening, Limerick Concert Series which take place next Spring and includes afternoon performances from much loved Irish classical performers.

Speaking about the launch UCH Director Sinéad Hope said “We are delighted to launch this new concert series at the end of an incredibly difficult year for everyone in the Arts. We have a wonderful programme of events planned with world class Irish artists and hope that this series can act as an awakening of sorts for live classical performances in UCH. We can’t wait to fill our auditorium with live music and to welcome audiences once again.”

The series will open on the 28th of March 2021, welcoming Irish mezzo-soprano, Tara Erraught and pianist Dearbhla Collins who will perform a programme including arias by Berlioz, Haydn, Mahler and Quilter together with an Irish selection including Balfe’s beautiful I Dreamt I Dwelt in Marble Halls.

The Irish Chamber Orchestra will take to the UCH stage on the 25th of April with Internationally acclaimed, conductor, violinist and chamber musician Thomas Zehetmair directing a programme of Mozart, Deane & Bruckner

Awakening, Limerick Concert Series is also delighted to welcome pianist Hugh Tinney and cellist Christopher Marwood on the 9th of May. The series will close with acclaimed Irish pianist John O’ Connor performing Beethoven’s beautiful sonatas live at University Concert Hall on the 30th of May.
