Limerick men Craig Casey (21) and Calvin Nash (23) are some of Munster’s most exciting young talent and look set to have bright futures in the red jersey going forward.

Nash played his schools rugby at Crescent College Comprehensive and represents Young Munster in the AIL. The winger debuted for Munster in 2017 against Edinburgh and has since scored 6 tries in 26 appearances for Johann Van Graan’s men.

Scrumhalf Casey progressed through the Shannon RFC underage set-up before excelling in the Munster Schools Junior and Senior Cup competitions for Ardscoil Ris. The 21-year old captained the Ireland U20s to Grand Slam glory before making a breakthrough to the Munster first team in 2019. Last month his flying form was rewarded with a place in Andy Farrell’s Ireland Six Nations squad.

The news comes as a great boost to Munster and was much welcomed by head coach Johann Van Graan.

“We are delighted to be in this position, confirming player contracts for the season ahead. The calibre of this initial player group is a huge positive with the province retaining the services of experienced, quality players while also securing the futures of up-and-coming talent.  It’s further reward for the clubs, schools and volunteers that have invested time and effort into the development of these players.”
