LIMERICK Gymnastics Club, located on the Dock Road, has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help the club raise funds needed to support the running of their club in light of Covid 19 restrictions.

The club is fun and progressive, catering for members aged four to late teens in a fully equipped training space. They run recreational and competitive classes as well as providing a leader programme for their teen members.

They are very proud to maintain a high retention rate, keeping many young people, especially girls involved in the sport.  During all three lockdowns, their dedicated coaching team has been keeping their gymnasts active and interested by providing workbooks, pre-recorded classes and free live zoom classes.

The financial impact of Covid 19 on the club has been significant. Having been in operation for only 17 weeks in 2020 the club is yet to open in 2021. Their membership and capacity for growth has been significantly reduced due to restrictions which are still in place for their sport.

The club has invested heavily in its development over the last six years when they moved from a small school hall to a fulltime facility.  To keep the club going in such a facility they still have to pay rent, utilities and insurance costs.

They are hoping by setting up this GoFundMe page, they can bounce back into the gym and continue to keep the sport alive in their community.
