Watch: Treaty Talk on Limerick Ladies and Mens Hurling & Football sides and upcoming Camogie clash.

IN this week’s Treaty Talk our reporter Jack Neville sits down with Matt O’Callaghan to discuss hurling, football, camogie and ladies football from the past weeks action.

Limerick footballers fell to defeat at the hands of a very strong Derry side in the National Football League Division 3 semi-final in Carrick on Shannon on Saturday afternoon. The loss means Limerick will not earn promotion and will now remain in Division 3 for the upcoming season while Derry will move on into the second Division.

The Limerick Ladies were beaten convincingly by Leitrim in Milltown in Galway on Sunday afternoon after a poor showing in the first half left them with too much to do in the second which they failed in their attempt to claw themselves back into the game.

However, a late flurry and a showing of pride in the closing stages cut the lead down and put a more respectable score on the boards but ultimately their slow start cost them as they fell to a 2-07 to 4-12 defeat. Leitrim were impressive from start to finish controlling most of the game to gain a vital win over Donal Ryan’s ladies in the Division 4 semi-final.

The Limerick Camogie team has been announced earlier today with a tense game coming up against Clare in Clarina at 3.30pm in the preliminary round of the Munster Championship. This is the first meeting between the two following their clash in May.

Limericks Mens Hurlers beat Westmeath on Sunday in what was a closer game than many expected for the majority of the tie, but Limerick pulled away in the final quarter and will be happy to get the victory after a close tightly contested first 50 minutes. John Kiely will be happy with his sides form moving on with two victories in their last two beaten Cork the week prior.

All this action and more is discussed here in this week’s action packed Treaty Talk.
