Watch: Country star Clodagh Lawlor talks upcoming album following rise to fame

CLODAGH Lawlor is one of Irelands most talented country music stars who’s seen a huge rise in success since her appearance on the Late Late Show in May of last year and has since released several singles on multiple streaming platforms.

The 26-year-old has had a busy few years from live performances and travelling to the United States and Canada with the Young Irelanders and releasing song after song as well as numerous interviews following her quick rise.

Following her appearance on The Voice of Ireland in 2016 Clodagh has gone from strength to strength and has been recognised as one of the countries greatest talents getting to perform with Nathan Carter in the process. Clearly Ryan has proven she more than belongs on stage and in the spotlight.

The Newmarket-on-Fergus native is looking to soon release an album following such an impressive impact on the country music scene. When discussing her hopes of releasing an album Clodagh said: “For the album I’m hoping for late November, December if I can”. Then described what the album would be about and what it means to her as an artist “My album is a storybook of my journey as an artist so far” she added.

With COVID having an impact on all industries across the globe the Clare singer mentioned why the album will be released later than initially expected “With everything going on its been hard to get it out there” she said .However, with a releasee date now in mind Lawlor said:” I’m very excited for it and lets hope it does well”.

“The first song off the album is Jolene, that kind of shows who I am, its Jolene but there’s a different vibe to it” stated Lawlor.

The Former Voice of Ireland contender is looking forward to going to Nashville next year and mentioned the passion she has for the career path she has chosen and why it means so much to her to be able to do what she loves.

Lawlor said, “I want to make a life and career out of music and nothing else…doing what I love, my word to anyone out there is always do what you love”.

The talented artist from Clare is showing no signs of stopping and looks to build on an impressive career to date with the upcoming album following huge success so far.
