SINCE Grant Thornton became an official sponsor of Old Crescent Rugby Club in 2018, there has been significant progress both on and off the pitch.
In 2018 Old Crescent won the AIL Division 2B with an unbeaten season. In 2020, the club secured the Charity Cup while the u20s side won the Donal Walsh Plate.

The 2019/2020 season also saw the club revive its involvement with women’s rugby, through the launch of underage girl’s teams. The club started with eight talented young women and now has more than 50 registered female players.

Both Grant Thornton and Old Crescent hold the value of inclusivity very highly and this is highlighted by the clubs counting of their re-involvement in ladies rugby as one of its major successes over recent years.
During the pandemic, the club had time to improve their grounds with the intention of enhancing the experience for everyone from the underage to senior members and the local community.

Changing rooms were refurbished and floodlights were upgraded while the addition of the very popular Half Moon Coffee shop which operates from the clubhouse 7 days a week proved a resounding success.

The high levels of expectancy around the club on match days is tangible and creates a fantastic atmosphere for players and supporters.
