Six new outreach centres for women experiencing abuse in Limerick

Limerick Garda Crime Prevention Officer Sgt Ber Leetch

SIX new centres for women experiencing domestic abuse have opened throughout Limerick city and county.

The new outreach service provided by Adapt House has expanded to two new venues in the city and four in the county – Croom, Rathkeale, Hospital and Newcastle West.

“Women experiencing domestic abuse can receive one-to-one support at any of these centres by calling their helpline number 1800 200 504 to make an appointment,” said Sgt Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street Garda Station.

“If you are a victim of abuse or you know of a family member or friend who is a victim of such abuse, that information is important to Gardaí.

“If you require assistance, call 999 or 112. Gardaí are there to listen, help and to protect you,” Sgt Leetch advised.
