Limerick council wins top tourism award 

LIMERICK City and County Council’s biggest and most ambitious tourism marketing campaign, Limerick 50 Days of Summer, has won a major national award.

The ‘50 Days’ campaign won the award for the Best Connected Council (Communication and Digital Marketing) at the All-Ireland Community and Council Awards last week.

Known as the LAMA Awards, they highlight the work of local authorities as well as recognising the important contribution that volunteers and groups make to their communities. The ’50 Days of Summer’ campaign was one a series of Covid-19 supports rolled out to help the tourism and hospitality sectors.

It set out 50 reasons to visit the city and county, along with a competition that offered 50 prizes of unique Limerick visitor experiences which attracted more than 86,000 entries,
