WITH venues yet unannounced for the Men’s Irish Open in 2024 and 2026, it’s certain that both host of this weekend’s Women’s Irish Open Dromoland GC and Adare Manor are strong contenders to stage the national championship in either year.

The K Club in Kildare, home of the 2022 Irish Open, will be the venue for the Open next year, and again in both 2025 and 2027.

In the case of Adare, it would make sense that the magnificent facility stage such an occasion in 2026 as a mini dress rehearsal only a year out from its much-anticipated hosting of the 2027 Ryder Cup.

Earlier this summer, Adare successfully staged another edition of the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am and, no doubt, will be keen to undertake similar such exercises over the next few years.

In the build-up to the action at the Women’s Irish Open, which concludes today, there was high praise for the overall setting that is Dromoland Estate.
