Limerick mother killed in road collision to be buried on Thursday

Funeral arrangements have been confirmed for a young Limerick mother who died in a single vehicle road incident last weekend.

Shannen O’Halloran, of Oakfield, Father Russell Road, Raheen, was driving a vehicle which was involved in a collision around 3.30am last Sunday.

The 29 year-old beautician died at the scene, at Kilduff, Pallasgreen. Her partner, named locally as Paul Bennett, who was seriously injured, remains in hospital for treatment for his injuries.

Gardaí said that a young girl and a male toddler, who were also in the car, were “also receiving medical treatment but their injuries are not life-threatening”.

Ms O’Halloran is survived by her sons Dion and Jaxson; daughter Lexie; mother Elizabeth brothers and sisters.

Her remains will repose at Cross’s Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, tomorrow (Wednesday) from 4.30 to 6pm followed by removal to St Joseph’s Church, O’Connell Avenue at 6.30pm.

Requiem Mass on Thursday at 12 noon will be followed by her burial at Castlemungret Cemetery, Mungret.

Gardaí investigating the collision are appealed “to anyone who has information, who may have witnessed the incident or who may have video footage (including dash-cam), to contact Henry Street Garda Station 061 212 400  the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station”.
